FOREWORD

Spirits yearn for results, not for forewords and wish to reach the longed-for goal without lengthy introductions

Therefore I will limit my preface to these few lines, which announce my decision to write the book.

Ibn al-Nadim *

WHY IT IS

It is about us, about our planet earth and about energy in its manifold forms.

It is about the fact that today – and for all future – energy is available in abundance.

And it is all about how this energy can benefit all inhabitants of our planet without spatial or quantitative restrictions – without ecological or economic damage to the environment and life.

As proof of these statements, all forms of renewable energy discovered and used so far are presented here. As a general map, the likes of which do not exist anywhere else on the net – and to provide a general overview that should prevent you from getting entangled in the undergrowth of controversial opinions from experts and expert reports.

In addition, a database will present various new and not yet verified energy innovations, as well as – and in more detail – a very special potential method for exergy generation based on the following premise:

Every movement of matter, apart from a few special cases, can be regarded as a vortex movement.

Dr. Ing. Hans J. Lugt **

And no … this has nothing to do with esotericism, but – if anything – rather with exotericism…! ;-))

SYNOPSIS

First of all, the environment in which the current processes of energy production or conversion take place and the often negative effects that result from them will be examined. This is the content of Part A – The Biosphere. Here it is also shown that in the past decades, despite all the good approaches, not enough has been done by far to overcome the increasing difficulties – while the gap between climatic extremes is widening.

In the following part B – Overall Energy Conception I will introduce the system technical tools that are available for the goal finding and problem solving process. Their application allows a more precise analysis and better evaluation of the alternative or substitution energy sources available for selection.

In the third part C – Analysis of Exergy Separation, I describe in detail all non-fossil energy sources: their history, the present state of their development and their future – starting with the known renewable energies, the scope of which is shown in the table of contents C (highly recommended at the beginning!) – up to those systems which have not yet made it to the public and which form the content of the database of new energy. Part C has its own linked menu and has been continuously updated and expanded since its first publication in March 2007 (see below).

The fourth part D – The Synergetic Model describes a system for the provision of exergy, i.e. pure useful energy, which I personally prefer and which I hereby introduce into the global energy and environmental discussion as a proposed solution.

In the fifth and final part E – My Way, the own motivation is examined and the social, historical and religious context of the Synergetic Model is described. It also reports on what steps have been taken to inform stakeholders, experts and politicians about this proposal and to encourage them to implement it.

All chapters can be accessed individually via the sitemap, while the overview contains summaries of the five parts mentioned above. The content of this homepage is approaching the size of a book of about 6,000 pages by the end of 2013 – but there is a good reason why you should know all this:

CHRONOLOGY

I started this work in 1975 – when I was in Syria abu Muhammad al-Masih (1926 – 1999) and his small water machine. He claimed the title “Messiah” – although it soon turned out that he regarded this title as a rather profane job title, because a “Masih” is a wiper (of fuel technologies). This fact is relevant to explain my motivation and should be pleasing – but not frightening or even distracting from the important contents!

Already in 1973 I had begun to deal with alternative forms of energy. But only through the inspiration of the upward swirling water within the Messiah-Machine, which can also be confidently called a ‘hope machine’, I got an idea of the direction in which the search for a realistic solution to the global environmental and energy question is leading.

In its first version, this work came to a temporary end in 1981, because my job and family took up my time elsewhere. Nevertheless, in the following years I continued my research without interruption, collected material and published various articles and reports on this subject. In the year 2000, I was motivated by the musician Tom Wölke and his friends to update my work and publish it on the internet, which had been created in the meantime. Thank you for this friendly impulse!

It was exhausting, but also fun, to sift through the extremely extensive material, to translate it (about 75% has never been published in German before), to supplement, to elaborate and finally to digitize it in order to make it accessible to the general public and free of charge. The Book of Synergy is optimized for viewing in Firefox browser and on a 17″ screen

If you read these sentences here, then I have done it…!

SYNERGY 2.0

Since the activation of this site in March 2007, more and more mails with wishes, recommendations, additions, thanks and recognition reach me. Which of course makes me very happy.

Based on this feedback, I decided at the beginning of 2008 to continue writing the Book of Synergy in the future – as a cultural history of renewable energy.

The reactions and comments so far can be read here on my private page – and here you can have a look at the access statistics (status 11/2010). In February 2009, the Book of Synergy recorded over 1 million clicks per month for the first time, and in May 2010 already over 2 million clicks per month – which corresponds to around 50,000 visitors per month.

Udo Schneider
Rolf Seiler and Hans Jakobsmeyer are responsible for the film introduction, which was released in February 2009. This 6-minute trailer is now also available with English and Arabic subtitles. The redesign of the site, which took place at the beginning of 2017, was realized by the graphic artist Daniel Hellweg, the background was created by the illustrator Matthias Töpfer.

My further acknowledgements can be found in the imprint. As an additional category I have added the chapter ,Innovations, which I find good… As an additional section I have integrated the chapter ‘Innovations I like’, in which some linked environmentally relevant suggestions and implementations are presented, which are not exclusively related to energy.

It is now necessary to finance qualified translations of this publication at least into Arabic, English, French, Russian, Spanish and Chinese – because most people have no or insufficient information about the energy potentials actually available. Because:

And without the appropriate knowledge, even the highest motivation cannot lead to a meaningful implementation.

Suitable companies or institutions such as environmental ministries, associations, foundations, etc., which also bear the responsibility for informing the public and which also manage the necessary funds, can be considered.

Companies or sponsors who would like to make an international name for themselves through appropriate translations should please contact me. Such a content-rich Internet presence is the most cost-effective and sustainable marketing campaign imaginable.

I would also be very pleased to have active co-authors to help me make faster progress with the updates. It is strange that in more than ten years not a single person has been found who would have committed himself accordingly – just as there has not been a single institution that has supported or promoted the Book of Synergy. And the dozens of nominations, including the annual Eurosolar Prize, are regularly rejected – honi qui mal y pense.

To support further work, I also appreciate donations – which can be transferred via PayPal-button upside right or via regular account details at imprint page.

This structured compilation of information is intended to ensure that not every generation has to start researching again and again – as has been the case up to now; to inspire people with the many ingenious ideas and implementations that already exist; and in the spirit of ‘Contributonism’ and the UBUNTU movement (M. Tellinger) to make the collected knowledge freely available to all people.

Thanks a lot!

Let’s go:

(*) Ibn al-Nadim was the author of the ‘Catalogue of Sciences’, the ten-volume bibliography of all translations and original works published in Arabic, published in Baghdad in 1000 AD. The library there is said to have contained over one million (!) registered volumes before its destruction by the Mongols. The quotation is from the remarkable book ‘Allah’s Sun over the Occident’ by Sigrid Hunke.

(**) About Dr. Ing Hans J. Lugt and the secrets of the vortex movement I report in detail in part D.

(***) ‘Bucky’ Fuller should really be known by everyone, but if not, then just google, you will be surprised…
